Ray "Pete" C. Peter

Ray “Pete” C. Peter, 83, of Kutztown passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021. He was the husband of Susan J. (Ferguson) Peter. Born in Chapman, Lehigh County he was the son of the late Claude and Hilda (Smith) Peter. 

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years and retired from Kutztown University where he worked as a roofer in the maintenance department for many years. He was a member of Ziegels Lutheran Church in Breinigsville. Pete was a member of the Breinigsville VFW Post #8282. He was an original member of the Kutztown Hobos, where he helped his community for many years. Pete also enjoyed golfing as his favorite hobby, his proudest moment was his hole in one.

In addition to his wife, Ray is survived by daughters: Sarah R. Kurtz, wife of William Jr. of Fleetwood, and Kelly S. Peter of Kutztown; sister Annabelle Koplin, wife of Maynard of Topton; and brother Forrest Peter of Allentown. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, and many friends. He is predeceased by brothers: John Peter, Paul Ruch, and Sterling Peter. Services will be private per his wishes. Edward J. Hildenbrand Funeral Home Inc. in charge of arrangements.
