Karen L. (Schroeder) Fleisher, 63, of Kutztown, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022 in Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehabilitation. Born February 11, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Arlan R. Schroeder and Carole L. (Fabian) Schroeder, both of Kutztown. Karen worked as an accountant and manager after graduating from Kutztown State College, now Kutztown University, in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She graduated from Kutztown Area High School in 1977, where she was a member of the field hockey team and the band. Karen always fondly remembered her time in band, and playing music with friends. Professionally, she was proud of her accomplishments at work — and never shy with advice for her sons on how to balance a checkbook or spreadsheet. She was active at church, Sunday school, and youth group, most recently at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kutztown. Karen was happy when her hands were dirty from yardwork and gardening, and her hobbies included reading, needlepoint, crochet, and weaving. She is survived by sister Kimberly J. Ring; brother Kenneth J. R. Schroeder; sons Adam J. Fleisher and Bradley A. Fleisher; and four grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brother, Kyle F. Schroeder. Services private. Edward J. Hildenbrand Funeral Home Inc. in charge of arrangements.
