Obituary

Jean E. Strauss, 91, of Breinigsville, passed away Friday June 16, 2023, 9 days before her 92nd birthday. She was the wife of John L. Strauss. They would have been married for 66 years on June 29th . Born in Stony Run, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Alma (Stump) Leibensperger. Jean was a 1949 graduate of Kutztown High School. She served as an organist for several churches in the area from 1954 to 2019 when she retired. Jean also taught organ and piano lessons for numerous years. 

In addition to her husband John, she is survived by daughter Jane  L Kale. of Allentown, sons; Joel R. Strauss husband of Kathy of Bethlehem , Jeffrey M. husband of Tamara Licata of Fogelsville, grandchildren; Sean and Zach of Bethlehem . She was predeceased by grandson Lewis. 

Services Wednesday June 21, 2023 in Zion’s Union Church Maxatawny at 11am. Visitation with the family 10am till time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.  Edward J. Hildenbrand Funeral Home Inc. in charge of arrangements.
