C. David Heffner

We lost the life of this amazing man Friday, July 30, 2021.  C. David Heffner, 79, loved his wife, Genevieve (Feinour) Heffner, Planes, Trains, Homemade Soup, & Irish Setters. David was the son of the late Claude & Mary (Rahn) Heffner.  He was a 1960 graduate of Kutztown High School.  He enlisted in the Air Force, proudly serving for 4 years until 1964.  While in the service he learned to climb poles.  Following his discharge, David worked as a lineman for MetEd. After moving to rural Greenwich Twp., near Lenhartsville, he married Genevieve.  They shared 50 years of marriage together that was never boring. They were inseparable and did everything together because he said “I married her to be with her.” He enjoyed watching collegiate sports, especially basketball from The Palestra.  To improve TV reception, he installed an antenna in a tree, then on a pole, then on a hillside, then finally on a 90 foot tower.  With this passion, David created a small TV Cable company, and soon after The Antenna Shop.  Being a pioneer in the world of Satellite TV, David installed equipment for many colleges, radio stations, defense contractors, cable companies, and other businesses.  However, he loved working for local folks, sitting on the floor fixing connections and talking to customers' dogs who would sit down beside him.  He had no fear of heights and was a great teacher to all of his employees.  Health challenges later in life slowed down his active schedule, but never diminished his pleasure of spending time with Genevieve.  He will be greatly missed by his wife, his brother Jay, many cousins, and nieces and nephews. A Celebration of David’s life will be held Sunday, October 10th 2021 at The Grove at Kempton, 2758 Route 143, Kempton PA from 2-5pm. Come and share your memories of David with us.
