Mildred Malonson

d. January 17, 2026

Mildred “Millie” Malonson, 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 17, 2026. Her daughter JoAnn was at her side. Millie was born in Vauxhall, NJ. At and early age her family moved to Morgan beach, this move started a lifelong love of the water.

Millie met the love of her life, Jack Malonson while they were on competing bowling leagues. Once married they lived in Highlands, NJ. When their family started to grow beyond their onebedroom apartment they moved to Middletown, NJ where they raised their family and lived for over 55 years.

Millie was very active in church, teaching Sunday school, working in the church thrift shop and assisting in other church activities. After leaving the Episcopal church Millie found her spiritual home at Bethel Bible Church in Red Bank, NJ. She was an active member helping in all manner until her move to The Lutheran Home in Topton, PA.

Millie enjoyed swimming, fishing, boating, bowling, traveling, camping and being a Girl Scout leader. Traveling was always a special time for Millie. Camping trips to Assateague, Maryland and Sebago Lake, Maine were among her favorites. She loved to travel out west and was blessed to go cross-country several times. Millie enjoyed being the cook on these trips as she enjoyed feeding people. Millie was most happy when she was surrounded by her family.

Once her children were in high school Millie rejoined the workforce. She was a bookkeeper for The Red Bank Lumber Co. She was a valued employee and well-liked by her coworkers. Once Millie’s children were out of the house she enjoyed watching the neighbors’ kids before and after their school day. She was loved by the children and their parents and continued to get cards and notes from them throughout her life. Millie had a heart for helping others. When an elderly widowed neighbor began having difficulty living alone, Millie became her caregiver for several months. Millie also loved animals. Throughout her life she had several pets and took in stray dogs and cats but her love for animals didn’t stop there. Millie found a Canada goose chick that had been dropped by a hawk. Millie brought “Lucy" home and she became a beloved member of the family.

Millie was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, John (Jack) Malonson, her parents John and Mildred Kuerble, her sister Barbara Kuerble, and her grandson John Daggett.
