Fredrick A. Burns

Fredrick A. Burns, 88, of Laureldale, Pennsylvania, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2026 at Laurel Pointe Senior Living. Born on September 16, 1937 in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Charles Burns and Rachel (Moyer) Burns. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School (Class of 1955). Proudly served in the Army where he had many adventures touring Europe in his off time taking many photos/slides. Fred worked in Advertising for Reading Eagle for over 40 years. Fred was the husband of the late JoAnn (Till) Burns for 62 years before her passing (2022). Fred enjoyed camping and traveling the US, especially Civil War related and anything JoAnn wanted to do. Fred leaves behind two daughters, Michelle (Shelley) Yerger (Ron) of Harrisburg, and Stephanie Kurtz (Kevin) of Robesonia. He has five grandchildren: Paul Yerger, Rachel Yerger, Rebekah Yerger Biacchi, John Kurtz, and Carly Kurtz Provost and two great-grandchildren; Elena Biacchi and Carlo Biacchi. He was predeceased by his brothers: Thomas Burns, Gerald Burns, and Ronald Burns. In Fred’s Memory, please have your favorite beverage in his honor (his was Yuengling Lager). Graveside services Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 11 am in Becker’s St. Peters Cemetery, 265 Maidencreek road, Fleetwood, Pa. Please dress for the weather.
