E. Richard Boyer, 89, of Fleetwood, died Thursday June 20, 2013 of natural causes in his residence.
He was the husband of Marion R. (Lebo) Boyer.
Born in Fleetwood, he was the son of the late Harry & Thama (Brown) Boyer.
He was the owner and operator of Dick’s Gulf Station, Fleetwood since 1953, and was the former Mayor of Fleetwood for 16 years, and was the former Fire Chief of the Fleetwood Fire Company.
A 1941 graduate of Fleetwood High School, he was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fleetwood; a charter member of the Fleetwood Lions Club; has served on Fleetwood Borough Council; and was an avid golfer.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Barry L. and Brenda L. Boyer, both of Fleetwood; his brother, Neil Boyer, Fleetwood; and his grandchildren: Michael D. & Michele D. Heydt.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at 11 AM from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 117 E. Arch St., Fleetwood, PA 19522. Burial will be private in St. Paul’s Union Cemetery, Fleetwood. Friends may call Tuesday, from 6 – 8 PM at the Church.
