Addison J.S. Planz 86, of Orange City  Florida, formerly of Kutztown, passed away at Florida Hospital July 24th.  Addie was born May 17, 1931 to the late  Rev. Addison & Margaret (Hughes) Planz.  He married June (Schneeberger) Planz in 1958, and she preceeded him in death on January 24, 2010.  He is survived by two sons, Brian & Brenda (Corfman) Planz, Findlay, Ohio and their children Brianna and Brad, Guy and Lori (Zoeb) Planz and their children Brook and Bryce, brother David Planz, San Diego, Ca.. Addison was one of the 49ers of Kutztown High School and was named class clown. His BA was from Trenton State College in Special  Education, and his Masters degree in Counseling is from The University of Scranton.  His teaching career started at Kutztown State, then Unionville School District in Chester County before being drafted in the US Army during the Korean  War, he served as a Neuro Psychiatric Specialist.  The majority of his career was spent at Allentown State Hospital where he advanced from teacher to school principal to Director of Special Education. Addison retired in 1983 from the State of  Pa. and moved to Flagler Beach, FL. where he was a  Professor at Daytona State College.  His lifelong ambition was to help children with special needs and learning disabilities.  He also had a love for cats, on his final years, he enjoyed his feline friends Sammie and Kitty. Graveside services will be held at  New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Grimville on Monday July 31st at 10 AM with Rev. Elizabeth Haines officiating. The Edward J. Hildenbrand Funeral Home, Inc. 346 W.
